Today I tested out permanent rose. Made tones of peach and yellow with my brush. I painted. With every dab of paint, the gloom seemed to fade away. AND then it hit me. The wonder of nature is a reminder that love is real. The heart shape in the lower right corner was a nice surprise. I painted what I felt. I really need to get higher quality paper. Tomorrow’s Calla Lillies will be painted with a slightly higher quality paper.
Ok as always thanks for reading! Day by day there’s more of you! I would love to see what you’re creating? Tomorrow I’ll spend so time visiting blogs and pinterst pages. Tag me @hellomireya.
The digitizing has begun. The next phase is putting it all together. I already have a few pages that need to be redone.
Who’s my audience? Kids. That means I need to make sure my lettering is easy to read. And the color scheme, well this tree seems all wrong. As much as I like it, it has to go. There’s not enough breeze among the leaves. The I’ll be here sentiment, needs breeze. I pressed down too hard on the paper which made for thick texture. All wrong.
For a moment I doubted but there can be no doubt. Coincidently, I read this very thought today! I ‘m happy to be working on this book. I’ll revise knowing I’m writing for an audience of one. Me.
I’m grateful for the good dinner I had and now it’s time to continue the digitizing.
Exploration projects are under way and I’m about to paint a watermelon for a fun first day of summer collaboration. Life is good!
Crayon layering technique with watercolor. What a twisted idea! I’ve done this before but this time it came out awesome. I guess the trick is to add a little pressure as you draw with crayons. Then go over it with a pretty saturated watercolor wash.
Next up was the thumbprint and fingerprint flower. Now this is a color scheme I thought about. The idea is for the reader to think on what fascinates them. What are they working on right now? It’s clear what my answer is.
Last but not least is string art. I balled up the string and stamped my way all over the paper.
All of these are simple but they create beautiful art. I’ve been working on my lettering too. Oh and this tree will be part of the Live Your Story Book.
Tomorrow’s another day! Yeah. Ok, watermelon painting time.
There was an Oprah speech a Sean Wess podcast I haven’t lsitened to in a long time, Laren Daigle’s You say and a movie.
BUT as I hand lettered my words all I could think about was Muhammad Ali’s rhyming. I ‘ll give it a try.
The only world I want to listen to makes me feel like I can do.
With her breeze she always puts me at ease.
The sun warms me. There is no doubt, I clearly see.
I will paint what I want
I got talent and I’m gonna flaunt.
You see flaws. Please put away your claws.
Cuz I got the breeze, she’s telling me keep walking with ease
There is no greater power than love,
I’ve got love
I swim among the most beautiful doves.
Today I gave a writing lesson to a first grade class. It was brilliant and I discovered …I’m a writer. This week was incredible. I sat down and I drew letters. I drew. The more I spend time in nature, the more I can say girl, Flow. Just let go and create. You got this now get out there because…there are no impossibilities
