Draw like a kid…

Tonight I just had to share that watching children create is such a creative booster. I saw them color, sketch and forget it they just drew. I did hear a few I messed ups but even then, they simply asked for another paper and proceeded.

P.S. I opened up a limited edition etsy shop. The shop will feature printable art directly from the books I write. Some work happens in between editing and roller coaster book making sessions. From now till September 6th, every print is $2.50. These prints are regular $5.00 and available via download for a limited time. I’ll change it up every season.

There’s an up to 40% off sale in my society6 shop as well.

Thank you tribe. Your support helps me continue creating and do what I’ve always wanted to do… let the kid play.

Wisdom Tree

There was an Oprah speech a Sean Wess podcast I haven’t lsitened to in a long time, Laren Daigle’s You say and a movie.

BUT as I hand lettered my words all I could think about was Muhammad Ali’s rhyming. I ‘ll give it a try.

The only world I want to listen to makes me feel like I can do.

With her breeze she always puts me at ease.

The sun warms me. There is no doubt, I clearly see.

I will paint what I want

I got talent and I’m gonna flaunt.

You see flaws. Please put away your claws.

Cuz I got the breeze, she’s telling me keep walking with ease

There is no greater power than love,

I’ve got love

I swim among the most beautiful doves.

Today I gave a writing lesson to a first grade class. It was brilliant and I discovered …I’m a writer. This week was incredible. I sat down and I drew letters. I drew. The more I spend time in nature, the more I can say girl, Flow. Just let go and create. You got this now get out there because…there are no impossibilities

Chachipe

is a gypsy phrase that I painted a while ago.Why not simply paint and let the idea emerge as I paint? As I create this year I want to simply do what I want to do and have fun. Freddie Mercury was a wise man. Chachipe’ is a gypsy term I learned while watching a Spanish novella. It means reality and truth.

The Gypsies would greet and say good-bye using this phrase. I like the phrase but the above interpretation doesn’t do this cool phrase justice.

Day 1

Do some research on gypsy patterns and color. Then paint. Same rules.

Day 2

let’s really get to work here and fix this.

Looking good

Weird but I like it…

Alright maybe rethink the color scheme here. BUT working with patterns and layering color is great for learning color the Josef Albers way. I’m ready to move on to the next project. Yes I need to start working on the live your story book.
