Have you ever taken the time to frolic in the breeze observing ever single detail? Seems like the more you observe nature, the more your condifence grows. Every element is unique in color, shape, line and space.
This quote expresses my sentiments, exactly.
All these things are an extension of myself. And I think how beautiful. how really great I am. – Alan Watts
I need to spend more time in nature.
Go to pinterest and find some picutes of pumpkins. I much rather roam a patch but these days that’s a no.
Thank you for reading and subscribing. Here’s to a good week!
I like the color so much that I had to paint circles with the leftover paint. Flowers? Yes but how? A few days later I reviewed the flowers I painted. My desktop wallpaper was an influence too. What I love most about art is there’s room for everyone. Everyone has a way, it could be collage, oil paint, fruit or fabric. When asked why, it’s always I just do. It’s an idea that takes over. Nature is art.
There’s also something in the neutral colors. I long for walks in the park with Roxy. That’s the kind of peace I want more of.
Politics isn’t my topic. Sometimes that is a great motivator. Yesterday an artist posted #riseupshowupunite I woke up to kites and watercolor. That didn’t happen. Oragami paper worked great.
I’ve got the election on my mind. We all do. The last one broke my heart. I know that there’s some pessimism in this but the idea is that there are challenges in our lives. We come acroos defeat. That doesn’t mean we’ve lost. It means we have yet to win. We can’t lose hope.
Yor turn. Use construction paper. Color over copy paper. That’s a good idea. Paint. Create.
These are a few of the lessons I ‘ve learned with 100 ways to flower with power.
On day one, I had plans. I drew my flowers. I had a list of tools/techniques to try. Then it was, what can I do with one tool. At some point I forgot about the list and let my thoughts and curiosity guide me. That’s where the real exploration began!
After that I found this place. It wasn’t comfortable. I lost track of time. There was no joy, fear, happiness or anger. Perhaps I started with feelings and then creating took over. Nothing else matterd. Gita and Learning by Heart are wonderful! Yes, creating gives me such peace. I am a creative. During exploration my mind is at play. I’m curious, imagining and working utill I look at it and say ok I’m done. Detachment is powerful!
There’s power in creating on your terms, your rules and learning that there’s only make. Moving forward leads to new ideas.
A Rose is a common flower. I like these two colors together. I drew the flower with an oil pastel. Crayons, permanent markers and pens. work good too. Test to make sure the color won’t bleed unless you’re curious! I was and yes that too made a fine flower.
Have a good weekend! Next week I’m starting with creative exploration-fall! 100 ways to flower with power will resume in the spring when the book launches.
Paint flat, glide and twist. I love that you can, stamp, drag, dab, tab or use the end to create dots. One of the major takeaways for flower with power is letting go.
I don’t know how to draw a flower. But it isn’t perfect so I need to throw it away. These are what get me, prevent me from pushing further.
Last night I made a horrible mess trying to fix what I thought needed to be fixed. Yes there were mistakes. And I walked right into them. I’ almost threw it away but it’s a beauty! Collage was a brilliant idea! Interestingly, the fix was closer to the idea in my head, without the clutter.
What a lesson for the other aspects of my life! Seriously.
Again I say thank to my new readers. We are growing. It is wonderful that I can share my art with you.
A flat brush, any size. And color. I’ve been thinking about culture and celebrations around the world. I have a pinterest board or two on the subject. Paper flowers are beautiful. I’m also thinking of flowers in the Bazar del Mundo shop. That’s the next project. I want some art for a pop-up shop.
Seriously, I am in love with all the beauty of every culture. I want to create lots of art as a reminder that together is more beautiful.
I may have used some left over paint. All I did was paint in an inward outward motion. All these reminders revealed themselves. I really like when this happens.
My plan is to do a few more weeks of flowers, until the last day of summer. Flowers. I had to paint lots of flowers because it feels like I missed spring. I had to bring spring to me!
Wait till you see tomorrow’s flower. I am having so much fun with these flowers. Ok time to rap up this post and get to creating and class.
Thanks for reading. Subscribe if you haven’t. Have a good day!
The more I paint the more I realize, I can draw a mighty fine flower. All it took was a small angle brush. Paint with the left hand. Paint with the right hand. At first they were just pink dabs of paint. I went to Jo-Ann’s to pick up a few birthday goodies. I found the perfect green.
I like it. A lot. I wanted a field of pink flowers. The kind of pink flowers that makes you stop and admire. You believe. For one or a few glorious moments you forget. How can you be in a field of pink flowers and not feel divine. I miss the beautiful gardens of Bellagio.
I could do paint with any brush. There’s a redo pile. I’m going to do some ink doodles. I’ll take another look at my pinterest board and see what I can come up with.
Walnut ink is new for me. Aside from the messy bottle, this ink is beautiful. Reminds me of painting with coffee or tea. I want to stain and create vintage paper. Maybe a love letter note to self? In the shape of a flower? Yes.
My thoughts were begin with what you know and find new ways to combine ideas. I ended up with weeds. You might be growing beautifully. Weeds start growing, wanting to choke you. That’s when you proceed with heart.
Society does impose. I suppose.
There’s this whimsical need to express the imagination. Every impossible or crazy idea began with a crazy idea. It’s only sound, good when oh, it works!
I can use walnut ink for a holiday themed creative exploration. Choosing a favorite color would be great too.

I’m wondering how others would paint or draw flowers? There’s more than 100 ways.
Next week I’m doing brush techniques. And after that flowers with napkins and ink. I’m surprising myself.
Thanks for reading. Thank you to those of you who have emailed me your kind words. Oh I made a few changes to You Are Loved.
I may have over stamped. I wanted enough white space to create a breeze. There is a pink version. There is a yellow version. Flowers have different stems and leaves. I’ve been collecting flowers on my pinterst board, observing shape and color. I want variation.
I want another list. How can I decorate with flowers? Maybe do lettering? Flower Fields? Bold colors? I’ve got another hand print idea. Then it’s brush techniques.
My goal is to explore the many possibilites with one simple tool. There is no right way to paint a flower. Anything and everything is possible. Isn’t it great!
