I’ve been thinking about this a lot. I read an amazing article on creative adivce for 2019.
The two goals that truly have my heart and my brain are forgetting the notion that art has to be perfect. Art is more importantly about how it makes you feel? What it does to you.
The other one is, in my own words, abandoning the sick need to be loved. Not sure why I used the word love here but yeah… I guess so. We want to “fit in” and be liked. So we do what everyone else wants and expects of us. We forget to be ourselves. Love is the opposite of this.
Well, I have said this millions of times and I’ll say it again, I don’t fit in and I never have. I paint like me. Sure from time to time I fall in to the trap of something someone said,” So you’re an artist. Can you paint like Bob Ross?”
Inside I contemplated my skills. BUT then I realized I don’t because I’m not Bob Ross. I paint like me and that’s the way it’s meant to be.
The world is a rainbow. I love this song!
